National Workshop on Building Capacities for SDGs - Strategies and Actions


Being the signatory to the resolution passed by the UN on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in September 2015, India is committed to attain the 17 aspirational Goals with 169 targets.  In order to attain the SDGs, concerted efforts are required at all levels viz:- National, State and Local. This necessitates massive capacity building and training (CB&T) programme targeting the multiple stakeholders. For this, uniform approach with strategies to build the capacities at various levels are required. In this context, KILA in collaboration with National Foundation for India (NFI) is organizing a two day National Workshop on Building Capacities for SDGs- Strategies and Actions.

Expected outputs of the workshop

          The National Workshop is expected to evolve :

·         Framework for capacity building for SDGs.

·         Base Module on SDGs.

·         Responsibility Mapping for CB& T institutions.


Faculty  members , Experts, and Resource persons from National/State level CB & T Institutions.

Technical sessions

The two day workshop will cover the following sessions:

·         Whose capacity to be developed?

·         What kind of capacity?

·         Institutional capacity of CB & T institutions.

·         Developing Modules and Training materials.

·         How do we work together for CB & T on SDGs?

Date:  5-6 March 2018

Venue : Cochin, Kerala

               Cochin, the commercial city of Kerala, is accessible by air and rail from all states.

Workshop Methodology

Each Technical Session will have input sessions by Experts followed by Group work and presentation in the plenary / display.

Workshop Logistics

KILA will meet the expenses for Travel, Accommodation and Food during the workshop. At least one Participant from each Institution will be covered by KILA, (Eligible for II AC or Air fare).
